- A credit bureau letter averages 4 pages, or about $4.48 per letter, because the bureaus require copies of your ID, proof of address and Social Security card. Letters to collection agencies and original creditors average 2 pages, or about $2.24 per letter — those copies are never included, but the length varies. Every letter is charged at the same rate per page, and the final mailing charge always follows the actual page count.
